Integrating fine dining and authenticity into the cuisines from Northern to Southern Asia, SHABU has captured the essence of home-style Pan-Asian cooking in a charming and refreshingly comfortable way.

SHABU was founded by George Chen of Chen’s Noodle House, Johnson Ngo (GM) of Musashino Sushi Dokoro, and Henry Wong of Mikado Ryotei.  By collaborating a team of individuals from the most renowned establishments in Austin, the conception of SHABU consisted of none other than a keen selection of refined taste, ambience, and intriguing satisfaction.  Executive Chefs George Chen and Keung Chan bring the unique flavors of Northern China and Hong Kong, respectively, to our forefront, and together represent over 75 years of experience.  For both, cooking has been a lifelong passion and enduring purpose – to serve others through whole-hearted dedication and culinary mastery. 

Exclusive to SHABU are, notably, our Pan-Asian noodles, made fresh and in-house daily, our hot pot specialties, with the first full hot-pot menu ever debuted in Austin, and our large variety of Northern and Hong Kong-style starters (e.g., lamb skewers, sesame pockets, and jellyfish salad, amongst others).
